Parentpreneur showcases Dafen School Global EntreComp Pioneers in Well-Being Craft Enterprise in Town Centre

So thrilled to report on another instalment of Dafen Primary School’s Entrepreneurial Journey, UWTSD and EntreCompEdu’s Whole School Global Pioneers.

Dafen School children continue to grow their entrepreneurial skills with parent entrepreneur Nick Dunford, of Nix by Nature. Nick has been supporting children with their well-being and mindfulness skills in afterschool sessions, yet spotted an opportunity to work with the children on an extended Well-Being Craft Enterprise.

Armed with their EntreComp creative and enterprise competences Key Stage 1 Infants and Key Stage 2 Juniors sprang into action, and in less than one month, ideated, costed, produced, and marketed, a range of well-being products for the community.

Unique hand-cast clay bowls, beautifully decorated paper mache tea lights, little adorned jars filled with hand written affirmations, and braded friendship bracelets, led to a well stocked and well presented stand at CYCA Community Hwb in Llanelli Town Centre today, attracting the attention of Saturday shoppers, reaping both economic and social dividends.

Nick shared, “I have really enjoyed working with the children. It has been lovely to see how engaged they have been, and so many now inspired to continue on their wellbeing and entrepreneurial journeys”.

Thanks to Nick Dunford and CYCA Community Hwb. A wonderful opportunity taken to blend well-being, resilience, and the ongoing development of an entrepreneurial mindset, whilst so tightly keyed into the new Curriculum For Wales. Diolch and llongyfarchiadau to Mrs Michelle Davies and Ms Tracey Singleton for their focused leadership.
