Emergent Thinkers.com 3rd birthday – celebrating in Lapland

Felicity & Lea, Yrittäjyyskasvatuspäivät 2021

Woke up to Emergent Thinkers.com 3rd year birthday embracing a warm feeling that embodies all the wonderful people I have connected with through this space. Emergent Thinkers.com is a shared journey, documenting lives and stories, drawing attention from 140 countries; people like you, dropping by with open hearts and minds. An intrepid traveller in my early days, I would never have dreamt of engaging with so many people from all corners of the world. Serendipitously today, I virtually arrive in the land of dreams, at the top of the world, in Finnish Lapland. My mission, to share the stage at Yrittäjyyskasvatuspäivät (Entrepreneurship Education Conference) 2021 with the wonderful Lea Oksanen of LUT University to showcase EntreCompEdu and Dafen School’s entrepreneurial journey. Our host, the University of Lapland, based in the City of Rovaniemi, is at the Arctic Circle; the perfect birthday treat. I may not see their Aurora Borealis today, but I am metaphorically filled with wonder and inspiration.

And so, as I move forward into Emergent Thinkers’ year 4, my doctorate is on its last push, negotiating time with life and work and as such, the frequency of posting may drop as my deadline pressures battle the lure of the blinking cursor on the blog’s white screen. Yet, I will remain poised to grasp those moments to post on phenomenal people engaged in educational and entrepreneurial endeavours, phenomenology, pirates and principled harmonious ventures, with buckets of passion.

The northern light painted the sky with stories we hadn’t heard of yet. We leaned back, letting the colours wash over us and paint new dreams for us to follow. -Robyn Petrik

With thanks
