Summer’s here, well and truly. The children are now off school and temps soar. It remains quiet on the ‘Emergent Thinkers.com front’, while I focus on balancing work, home-life, and the stress of a fast approaching thesis submission deadline. Yet I can report it’s been a fruitful July for all things entrepreneurial.
It’s immense to share that my home team at the International Institute of Creative Entrepreneurial Development (IICED) headed by Dr Kathryn Penaluna brought home from Florence, the ACEEU European Triple E Awards for ‘UWTSD as European Entrepreneurial University of the Year 2022′. An award which recognises the work led by IICED, not just domestically but with international reach, in developing creative innovative thinkers. It was also a thrill that my Harmonious Entrepreneurship Society (HES) co-founder, Professor David Kirby picked up a Lifetime Achievement award at the ceremony too.

Just 24 hours later, I had the joy of hosting the HES Award Ceremony to celebrate the first HES International Graduate Enterprise Competition which drew 16 teams of students and staff from across the UWTSD and the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW). In the four months since our online competition launch event in March, students and staff teams have convened regularly to ideate, create, develop and plan harmonious enterprises, from embryo to venture proposition to pitch readiness. I have been especially uplifted by the competitors efforts and the not insignificant contribution from our global judging panel and sponsors, Circklo, from whom I learnt so much. I look forward to update on how the three IUMW winners progress with their harmonious ventures.
This month has also been an active journal publication period.
The journal paper on the story of EntreCompEdu’s Global Pioneer School, Dafen Primary School was published by Education Research Quarterly. A lovely little extra to complete another superb enterprising and creative academic year at Dafen School:

For now, for me, it’s back to the writing, and all things phenomenological…interspersed with keeping things cool and wonderous with my high energy brood.
