Supported by the ‘Networked Learning Conference Consortium‘, I’m proud to share the 1st Networked Learning & Phenomenology Event (#HNL21) will take place in Cardiff, Wales.

The Cardiff event, hanfod.NL,focuses on the place of phenomenology in networked learning (‘hanfod’ is Welsh for ‘essence’). Dr Mike Johnson and myself aim to shape and strengthen phenomenology’s contribution to networked learning in the run-up to the full Networked Learning Conference in Sweden in 2022.

Two prestigious experts shape the programme. Prof Cathy Adams leads a ‘Phenomenology of Practice’ workshop, and Prof Nina Bonderup Dohn follows with a writing workshop on the second day. The morning of day two starts with a Pecha Kucha session, for sharing experiences of networked learning and phenomenology, to hear ‘voices from the river’. To borrow Heidegger’s analogy, doing phenomenology, like learning to swim, requires one to get in the water.

The evening social event is a banquet in Cardiff Castle.
