My Llanelli Rotary has also become a “Peacebuilder Club” through the Rotary Action Group for Peace. We’ve recently joined a global network consciously focusing on peace and conflict resolution, recognising that peace is something we actively build through understanding and connection. And to this end, I’m facilitating our area nominations for the 2025 Rotary Young Citizen Awards. With our new Peacebuilder status adding extra meaning, we’re celebrating young people under 25 making real differences:

• Young Citizen Award for exceptional positive citizenship
• Young Peacemaker for bridge builders
• Young Environmentalist for planet protectors
• Young Sporting Hero for those using sport to unite

Every nominee receives recognition, winners get trophies plus charity donations. Deadline: December 31st, 2024.

What connects these? Each shows transformation happening when we think beyond traditional boundaries. Businesses creating value beyond profit. Communities building peace through active engagement. Young people redefining what citizenship means. When different elements combine, something new emerges that’s greater than the sum of its parts.
