Today, I had the pleasure of sharing my career journey with BA Childhood, Youth & Education students on the SA1 campus at the University of Wales Trinity St David, as a Big Ideas Wales Role Model. It was a chance to highlight how entrepreneurial thinking isn’t just about business—it’s about creativity, adaptability, and making a meaningful difference across sectors. From education to community initiatives, statutory services to business partnerships, entrepreneurial mindsets help us navigate complexity and drive real-world change.
I’ve shared my journey through three career phases—each one shaping my understanding of leadership, change, and education. In the early stages, I developed a foundation in cultural transformation and led change initiatives that taught me how to navigate complexity and embrace growth. Later, in strategic leadership roles, I steered large-scale projects, designed learning and development strategies, and drove business improvements—experiences that sharpened my ability to scale impact and embed sustainable change within organisations.
Now, my focus lies in supporting businesses, educators, schools, and the wider learning ecosystem—bringing together business, local authorities, statutory and voluntary services, and community groups to enable joined-up thinking and action. For example, through EntreComp-framed initiatives like EntreCompEdu and Harmonious Heroes, I am currently helping educators embed entrepreneurial learning across the curriculum, empowering students to apply knowledge meaningfully, develop key competencies, and connect learning to life beyond the classroom. These projects involve close collaboration with business and community partners, ensuring that entrepreneurial learning translates into real-world impact and strengthens the wider ecosystem of support.
Across all these spaces—whether in schools, community hubs, councils, or cross-sector networks—my work is grounded in a belief that lived experiences, shared stories, and relational leadership are powerful tools for change. Sharing the challenges, breakthroughs, and outcomes of these journeys not only inspires action but also builds bridges between sectors.
If you’d like me to contribute to your event—whether with students, educators, local communities, or business and civic partners—I’d be delighted to share insights and spark conversation. I’m passionate about supporting others to explore entrepreneurial thinking as a tool for personal, educational, and societal transformation.
