January 20th—often called Blue Monday—is anything but for me this year! I’m thrilled to announce my contribution to the freshly published Circular Entrepreneurship Ecosystems: Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Trends, edited by Professors João J. Ferreira, Magnus Klofsten, and David Urbano.

Co-authored with Professor David A. Kirby, my Harmonious Entrepreneurship Society (HES) co-founder, our chapter (Chapter 3) draws from distinctly Welsh examples to explore how circular economy principles are integrated into entrepreneurial ecosystems. Using case studies of innovative Welsh businesses—including Riversimple, TCG Solutions, and Oseng-Rees Reflections—we examine the opportunities and challenges of transitioning to sustainable, circular practices.

We also unpack the concept of Harmonious Entrepreneurship, a systemic approach that harmonises profit, people, and planet, offering a holistic solution to global sustainability challenges. These Welsh-based case studies exemplify how local innovation can resonate globally, aligning with the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act and showcasing Wales as a leader in sustainability initiatives.

This publication is more than a theoretical exploration; it’s a resource packed with practical insights and real-world case studies that demonstrate how businesses and entrepreneurial ecosystems can shift from linear, waste-intensive models to regenerative systems that prioritise sustainability and impact. Whether you’re a policymaker developing circular strategies, an entrepreneur embedding sustainability into your business, or a researcher exploring this transformative field, Circular Entrepreneurship Ecosystems offers both inspiration and actionable ideas.

This milestone feels incredibly special, and opens the door for meaningful collaborations in the year ahead.

If you’d like to dive into the insights and strategies discussed, the book is available through Edward Elgar Publishing.

Here’s to starting the year with fresh ideas and momentum for a more sustainable future!

Felicity, Emergent Thinkers.
